Lucy, says post so I will explain to you some of my values:

* I abhor PC or Political Correctness. I think we have become a little too "thin skinned" and it has become ridiculous in our society.
* I am a big believer in the fact that history repeats itself. Those that don't learn the lessons of the past, are doomed to repeat them.
* I believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is why a balance of power in our Government is so important.
* The Left vs the Right. I do admit I lean in the direction of looking out for the little guy, the common citizen. I also believe that there is a failure of leadership in the Democratic space. While I support the concept of Unions, I believe the Union leadership in many cases has lost sight of there objective, and is in no way truly serving the needs of it's membership, ie, "absolute power corrupting absolutely". I fully support the Governor's idea to limit the auto paycheck approach of union dues to the union coffers. ACLU. You look at their charter, "defending the bill of rights" and you think, what a noble cause. The problem is that the ACLU leadership, has jumped off the deepend, and it out of control. I don't think that there is a true American out there who does not want the Bill of Rights defended, but the ACLU today, has lost their way.

This should be enough to get people thinking. Lucy, you are welcome to weigh in with your thoughts.

I have an obligation to go to a Nephews HS graduation, and I'm heading out the door.

RC - No problem. I tune out players like Lran. I don't take it personally, because I consider the source.

This nation needs to focus on the common ground. We focus too much on our differences.

I agree with you completely that there is far too little search for the middle ground. We have far more that we agree on than we disagree on, and it's time we focused on that.

Education is a great example. I found it quite funny how many people were amazed that a conservative might run for a community college board of trustees...and actually want to see it prosper.

Yet I believe education is the key to creating the level playing field I believe in...giving people hope that no welfare check can bring.

We have much we can agree on. Here's hoping your blog starts getting some more posts. :)
